ReLEx SMILE is a modern, minimally invasive laser eye surgery that corrects short-sightedness and astigmatism. Unlike LASIK, it does not involve creating a corneal flap — reducing the risk of dry eyes and improving long-term stability of the cornea. The procedure is performed using ZEISS VisuMax femtosecond laser technology and takes only a few minutes. Most patients can see immediately after surgery and return to normal activities within a few days. All-inclusive price £1,000 (1,100 Eur) per eye. Save up to 60% vs UK and Ireland prices.

✔ Advanced ZEISS VisuMax laser technology ✔ Over 100,000 eye surgeries performed ✔ Minimally invasive – no flap, faster healing ✔ Procedure takes only 10–15 minutes per eye ✔ Back to normal life within a few days ✔ Appointment available within 2 weeks
Q: Why is there a few days between examination and surgery?
A: After your eye examination, special dilating drops are used to precisely measure your eyes. These temporarily affect your vision and focusing ability. To ensure maximum accuracy and the safest possible results, your eyes need a few days to return to their natural state before surgery.

ReLEx SMILE Laser Eye Surgery & Recovery:
IMPORTANT PRIOR TO YOUR ARRIVAL TO PRAGUE
7 days prior to your eye examination in Prague you must not wear contact lenses. Contact lenses can distort the shape of the front surface of your eye, the cornea, and corneal measurements are crucial in ReLex SMILE laser eye surgery calculations. After your consultation, you cannot wear contact lenses leading up to your dilated pre-op exam and surgery. This will allow your cornea to go back to its most natural shape.

You will put moisturising eye drops to your eyes for the next couple of weeks. Most patients are able to start work as usual between the second and the fifth day after the surgery
By day 1, 80% of the visual correction is noticeable, with the full improvement achieved gradually over the next few weeks.
WhyReLex Smile isbetterthanLasik?
A key procedural difference between LASIK and ReLEX SMILE is that the former involves the creation of a flap, while the latter does not.
SMILE surgery is a newer type of laser eye surgery. It has a faster recovery time and no flap related problems.
ReLEx SMILE incision is 1/5 smaller than that of LASIK which means that normal production and regulation of tear film is better in SMILE.
SMILE is considered key-hole laser eye surgery as it only involves creating a 3mm opening in the cornea; typically LASIK has an opening of 18-20mm.
SMILE provides potentially better biomechanical stability of the cornea than Lasik treatment
Much less chance of developing dry eyes
No chance of the flap dislocating, shifting, moving, or folding
Much better for the long term stability of the cornea
