How Long Do I Need to Stay in Prague After Lens Replacement Surgery Abroad, Czech

Most patients travelling to Prague for Lens Replacement Surgery stay for approximately 4–5 days. This allows enough time for a comprehensive eye examination, consultation, surgery and an important post-operative check-up before travelling home.

Typically, patients arrive in Prague on Sunday and attend their detailed eye examination and consultation on Monday. This appointment usually takes 2–3 hours and includes advanced measurements, pupil dilation and a final assessment by the eye surgeon to confirm suitability for Lens Replacement Surgery and determine the most appropriate intraocular lens (IOL).

Surgery is usually performed on Wednesday, with both eyes treated on the same day. The procedure takes approximately 10–15 minutes per eye and is performed under local anaesthesia using anaesthetic eye drops. Most patients can see immediately after surgery and return to their hotel the same day.

A post-operative check-up takes place on Thursday morning. Following this examination, most patients are cleared to fly home from Thursday afternoon, although some prefer to stay until Friday for a more relaxed recovery experience.

For patients travelling abroad to Prague for Lens Replacement Surgery, we provide complimentary airport transfers as well as transfers between your hotel and the eye clinic for your examination, surgery and post-operative appointments.
