The most frequent wishes from clients visiting cosmetic surgery clinics is removing the excessive fat and forming body shape.

Summer is coming and so the time of swimsuits and short skirts. Lots of women give the responsibility (and also significant amount of money often exceeding average salary in the Czech Republic) for their nice body into the hands of specialists – plastic surgeons.

However, it is not that easy. Even though these surgeons can change body into a better one really dramatically, the secret of the perfect body remains in the healthy way of living and sufficient exercise. With that also agrees one of the best Czech plastic surgeons Dr Hubert Topinka M.D.

„In the last recent years a great progress has been accomplished in the area of liposuction, removal of excessive fat, causing such a huge interest. But the patients often tend to forget, that liposuction is not a method for losing weight, but only a tool in shaping the body. By removing one or two liters of excessive fat the patient is not going to lose five or more kilograms“ Dr Hubert Topinka points out. It is a duty of every good surgeon to explain all these facts to the client before undergoing the cosmetic surgery.

Regarding the types of liposuction, according to Dr Hubert Topinka in the last few years ultra fine ultrasonic liposuction has been pushing its way forward. With this type of liposuction client doesn’t have to have general anesthesia and so the treatment is favorable to the body.

„It is already four years that we are using the ultra fine ultrasonic liposuction method in our clinic, which is not harmful to the skin grain or any other tissue. In that way there are limited negative side effects, e. g. post-operative bleeding, swellings or strong pain of treated body parts. On top of that, vibrations of the equipment stop signs of cellulite in the skin grain.“ Says Dr. Hubert Topinka.

The least favorite is classical liposuction, which hurts almost after every surgery and is related to the long time of recovery. „There is a declining interest in such cosmetic surgery treatments, which leave more visible scars“ states Dr Hubert Topinka. „Women for example often decide instead of classical breast reduction (mamoplasty) to rather undergo breast uplift and breast enlargement with silicon implants. They are persistent in their claim that they don’t want visible scars on breasts, and thus ignore plastic surgeon's recommendations that the effect of this surgery will be only a temporary one,“ highlights Dr Hubert Topinka.

There are not only women, who visit cosmetic surgery clinics. Men find their way there as well. According to experience of Dr Hubert Topinka, men are less disciplined and they voluntarily shorten the recovery period by themselves.
