I am now 17 weeks post op and went to see the consultant for my final appointment. They have now discharged me and everything is great, I was advised to exercise gently as although healed on the outside it does take time on the inside. I am now attending aerobics weekly and about to enrol at the gym.
My scar is completely healed and I am now paranoid about putting weight on in case my overhang comes back, I think it's all in my head but being paranoid can come I to it I suppose.
I am going on my first holiday and obviously food is a temptation on holiday but I won't be of doing it as I don't intend on Thai overhang ever coming back
Leanne great news for you, you must be so excited, how much do you think they will cut away approx

Hi
Yes I would definetly do it over again as it certainly makes life
more comfortable for me. I don't want any further surgery as I don't
like the recovery period of simply doing nothing at all. I am quite an
active person and lead a very busy life and have my own business so it's a
busy life for me but having to sit down and take it easy and do nothing was
extremely hard but now looking back very worth it.

5 weeks away
Sassyhair, IP: 92.40.140.57 | 19.6.2012 09:21:30
I spent four days in hospital after my tummy tuck, if they let you stay in longer that's great
jemma, IP: 176.27.220.214 | 19.6.2012 12:13:18
what things did u take to the hospital with you? e.g pjs them kinda
thing and did u take snacks with you?
Sassyhair, IP: 92.40.140.57 | 19.6.2012 13:06:46
I took pyjamas and a long tshirt top which your better off with as then the drains which will be easier to manage. Pyjamas are okay to wear after your drains have been removed.
My husband and friends brought me snacks in on visits
Lianne, IP: 62.30.162.137 | 19.6.2012 13:15:51
Well im going in tomorrow girls. Due to where it is I won't get any visitors as its quite a bit away and mum will have enough with the kids as it is. Yeah I was just wondering about what to take into hospital. I have two pairs of PJ's will I need a nightdress too ? Are things like leggings ok to wear ? Do the hospital give you the support that you wear around your tummy ? Im guessing that I will be in for 2 days, that's the way they were talking anyway. Little bit nervous now xxxx
jemma, IP: 176.27.220.214 | 19.6.2012 16:17:45
thats another thing do the hospital give you the tight that u have to
wear and the compression garment? i was expecting for it to take forever to
get my op so its a unexpected surprise that its in 5 weeks

Well ladies. That's me all done
just waiting in getting picked up and
go home. Bit sore but not as bad a I expected. Still can't stand up
straight but apart from that feel good. I was worrying thinking it was
going to be so much worse. Looking forward to seeing results but that won't be
until I get my dressing removed. (about 7–10 days I think)

jemma, IP: 176.250.219.44 | 22.6.2012 11:38:45
Hi tracey,
In my experience after losing 10st there is no way that exercise alone
will neva make the loose skin go away so my guess is that u will prob need
to get some work done as well

When you have your appointment they will assess the situation and ask you about your health and also why you want it doing, just be honest and tell them how it's affecting you in your personal life, health and self esteem etc

Thats me day in in recovery. I must say its not been too bad although that back ache that I have had is really bad. Between the lower part when you are walking and the rest when you having to lie on your back all the time. I can't wait to be fully recovered. Im off to the hospital tomorrow to get my dressings changed and it will be the first time that I will see the scar. I was looking at my profile today and you can really notice a difference although there is still some swelling. Sassy they removed a Kilo xx

Hi, can anyone help me with information please? I've lost 8 stone
through diet and exercise and now have deflated breasts and a sagging tummy that
despite working furiously on, has never lifted. I've decided to go for implants
to return my chest to it's former glory, and a tummy tuck to remove the
sag. I've had friends get cosmetic surgery on the NHS but that was before all
the budget cuts. I'm really upset about even the thought of going to my GP as
they've been so reluctant to help in the past (depression, mass hair loss, never
got anything more than a vague interest from the doctor then was shown the door)
and I just get this feeling they'll say no. I've priced up going private
and it's looking like nearly 10,000 which I simply don't have and
won't be able to get my hands on.
It's really getting to me now as I worked (and work) really hard
at firming and toning, exercise for at least 2 hours 5/6 times a week, but
I still can't bear the thought of being intimate with a man because he'll
see my disgusting flab
Does anyone know if NHS are still helping with cosmetic? Or would
I be better to look overseas?
Many thanks in advance,
Ruby-roo xx

Hi there, I have lost a total of 9.5 stones over a 4 year
period….I have been left with large amounts of saggy skin on my
stomach, thighs and breasts…Every day I spend at least 3 hours
on and off trying to stretch the skin round my body in the mirror and have even
resorted to wearing body control underwear to try and hide it…I dare
not eat for fear of filling the loose skin and ending up as big as I was
before so I am just loosing more weight and gaining more skin…its
like a vicious circle….I am mentally tortured by it…i'm
terrified of the doctor saying no to surgery but fear if something is not done
I will become seriously ill….please can someone give me some
advice..I have reached desperation

Good luck… My g.p was useless, I get recurrent belly button infections, I've only lost 2 stone to reach 9.5 stone but my stomach Is dreadful, almost comical I've had three big babies and am not even five foot in height so my tummy has seen better days. I was told it wouldn't be a priority and offered ointment to treat my t button when needed. Any way I've booked for nov 2012, feel sick with nerves x

Good morning Ladies,
I had my op on the 20th June. It was the best thing that I have
ever done. I feel great. Like yourselves. I was petrified about the op
and the pain after but I have to say, I don't think that it was that
bad at all. Obviously you are really sore and are restricted to what you can do
for 6 weeks, but the first 2 weeks are the hardest. I was lucky
enough to put kids into nursery FT and we moved in with my mum. She was a great
help. I would say to you tho be prepared for a scar. Mine looks great
really thin but its alot higher and further at the hips that id hoped for but
apart from that im over the moon and after about 18 months it will fade.
I put bio oil on it every day but apparently its more the massage and
moisturisation that helps it heal. I wish you the best of luck xx

I had my tummy tuck on the 17th February 2012 and it's just coming up to six months since I had mine done, I would not change anything and like Lianne said you have to be prepared for a big scar, and the recovery period is hard.
Don't ever give up on your goals as this is the best year so far for me.

I found testimonies about prophet harry and I have no idea why I searched „spells“ but I did. Hiya,
I NEED a tummy tuck but i can't afford it. I've had 2 children, i'm only 21, my oldest is 4 and my youngest is 1. After i had my youngest i was left with a very saggy belly and it's wrinkled. I feel like i'm a 90 year old woman. I've been to the gym, had a personal trainer, i've even got dvds (paid for by my dad) and nothing has worked! I get undressed in the dark or in the bathroom with the door locked so my husband can't see me. I sleep on the floor or the sofa because while my husband is asleep he rolls over and cuddles me, but i can't stand it. I can't have him see or touch me! We haven't made love since i've had my youngest son. I want to make love to him and have him see me naked and have cuddles with him, but it's not going to happen while i'm like this. My husband says he doesn't care about the way i look, but i feel like he does care. I'm scared he's going to have an affair or leave me! I have to wear baggy clothes. Someone please help me. I still have years to live!!

Hi there Hayley, I pretty much feel the same, I am having surgery in nov . if you feel so low and can not afford surgery go to your g.p, try and get a sympathetic one. The impact it's having on your life may mean they refer you to an nhs surgeon for consultation , I had been told that I wasn't a good candidate as was not psychologically affected. X x x

Sarah, Broomfield?
I am way behind you. I met my GP on Monday 08th Oct
2012 who is writing to the PCT to ask for funding. Whispers are three
months.
In April 2013 assuming the NHS changes take place matters will be
controlled by your local GP and not the PCT.
( male 22 stone to 12 st 6lbs, 14 months at weight )

Good for you , I can't help but feeling a bit miffed that most people get fobbed off when they visit their doctor re t.t . I'm having to leave my kids of ten days and it will cost 3500 with flights etc… Really not a fair system we have… Maybe I should say I want a sex change or for some Methodone… that will be funded lol x

Rachie,
Are you travelling alone? How long is your stay?
Personally I do not how well I could cope with the two hour
flight home from Prague on say easyjet.
Have you seen video's of a tummy tuck being performed…

Hi, I'm not going alone I have my sister going with me, I'm not squeamish , I work in health care with open wounds.. splinting hands and I have seen video,s Of t t .The most challenging part will be flying… I hate it lol , are you thinking of having surgery ?

I met my GP on Monday 08th Oct 2012 who is writing to the PCT to
ask for funding. The local NHS hospital is Broomfield, Chelmsford Essex.
Standing up if I pinch and pull forward below my belly button
I have about four inches of sag.
I understand drains are left in for 5–7 days or until output is
25cc over 24 hours which ever is first. Do I take it you fly back the
day after drain removal?
Rachie , IP: 91.125.244.157 | 23.10.2012 18:12:50
Mine is prob the same, I can't return until at least the 10th day after surgery, staying in the clinic for 3 days .
Rat1960, IP: 2.218.220.176 | 23.10.2012 20:50:01
Progressive Tension Sutures.
This is a means of not having drains I wish I knew what is
best.

I has my surgery in February this year and I felt rough for a good few weeks after, would not liked to have flown back for abroad after having a tummy tuck. You need complete rest after this type of surgery

I think if anyone gets declined on the NHS is to appeal, I appealed and in the end I got mine done and I have never regretted it. It took me 18 months but that was due to them losing my initial referral which got lost between the two hospitals, I ended up complaining to the hospitals and got PALS involved which then fast tracked me to a quick appointment but then got declined the operation as due to funding, this is when I appealed and I put everything in about how I felt. They wrote to me and I eventually got it done.
From referral to operation it normally is 18 weeks.
sarah l, IP: 90.211.112.28 | 24.10.2012 11:19:34
sassyhair, i no what you mean i too got decined and appealed i then had to sit with members from pct for a meeting for them to decide if they thought i needed the operation, it took me around 2– 2nhalf yearsto get my funding it was a very long process for me but have finally been accepted im just waiting for my appointment with the surgeon feels like it takes forever to come through but thts probably me being eager just need to b patient i suppose

It's a tough process and a waiting game but worth it in the end. What grounds are you having it done on weight loss or what ?
danielle, IP: 90.209.230.207 | 24.10.2012 13:00:18
what did you guys have to say to the pct? thanks danielle xx

In April 2013 assuming the Government legislation on the NHS becomes law
budget control passes from the PCT to the GP.
I hope my GP does not change his tune when he is allocating the
resources.
„Cosmetic surgery is rarely available through the NHS. There must be
overriding physical or psychological reasons for considering it as a treatment
option. For example, in rare cases, a primary care trust (PCT) may decide that
cosmetic surgery is required to protect a person’s health.“
Some folks gets so depressed that they self-harm, such as cutting
themselves or burning themselves with a cigarette or two. A psychological
problem quite common with those who have an overwhelming desire to have gender
reassignment surgery.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy is often used to address the problems of those who have Body Dysmorphic Disorder a condition where a person spends a lot of time worried and concerned about their appearance. There seems to be some connection between BDD and Obsessive Compulsive Disorder.

OMG listen to yourselves!!!! You are all moaning about waiting to long to be accepted for something that you don't even have to pay for.
There are people out there waiting for organs to save there lives and you lot are on here moaning bout the nhs taking to long to accept you gor something you should be paying for yourself!!
I had really tiny breasts that were making me depressed yet I still paid the £3000 for them!
You lot make me sick!!

I've been really interested to read all the posts. I saw my GP on Friday and she has referred me for a tt. I called the PCT advice line today and asked if its PS first or PCT, they said it depends who my doctor referred me to as not all cases go via the PCT?? I've lost over six stone with diet and exercise and tried for tt 7 years ago and doctor said no „he'd seen much worse“!! I've maintained for 5 years but have had enough of looking gross. My BMI is 25.5 and it was 39.5. I don't hold out much hope but worth a shot. Xx
Sassyhair, IP: 90.202.190.251 | 20.11.2012 19:21:19
Charlotte
There is a big difference between a tummy tuck and having small breasts, a tummy tuck is sometimes requested by each individuals circumstances, and you don't know what these circumstances are so get off your high horse and top judging each person who has put down on here why they want it.
Rat1960, IP: 2.120.66.10 | 20.11.2012 20:56:39
If folks progress their cases, this thread is a nice place to touch base.
I saw doctor, nurse, photographer at hospital on Monday 12th Nov
2012. Certainly later than Jan 2013, subject to PCT.
Easter would be cool with my loving daughters taking care of my every
need, what with them not be at work for a couple of days and all.
charlotte, IP: 82.32.245.250 | 20.11.2012 21:23:47
Haha circumstancea are different? No, you are just to spoilt to pay for it yourself! I don't see why I should have to pay for surgery and you don't! I was that depressed with my self image I ended up in a physc hospital so shut your mouth.
Sassyhair, IP: 90.202.190.251 | 20.11.2012 21:37:25
I just think your comments are very negative and your obviously just annoyed that you paid yourself you never got yours done on the NHS!! People are not moaning it's a long process that patients have to endure to get these surgeries passed by the PCT.
I have now blocked you and won't need to see anymore of your ridiculous and negative comments from someone who gets great pleasure in making forums like this great yo visit.
Good riddance

If you feel that you’re protruding or sagging belly is making you
unattractive and everything you tried has failed you may be considering an
abdominoplasty. Tummy tuck also referred to as a “tummy tuck”, the procedure
is growing popular and is used by both men and women who feel they are losing
the battle against an unwanted bulge around the midsection. What must be noted
is that it is not a simple procedure so you want to make sure you choose the
right tummy tuck Houston surgeon to perform it. Visit :
