hi
i've lost almost 4 stone in 8 months and kept it off for nearly
8 months now and i'm so desperate to get a tummy tuck on the nhs, i've gone
from a size 20–22 to a size 14 but would probably be a 12 only
for the excess skin hanging, i'm going to see my doctor next week to see if
i can have a tummy tuck on the nhs but not very hopeful, is there anything
i should say to him that will help my case and also can you ask your doctor
to refer you to a certain hospital as i've been told to go to whiston as there
may be a chance they'll say yes,
any help will be grateful

Hi Just thought I would keep you updated on what is going on.
I have a confirmed date for my tummy tuck of the 14th May. I am at
hospital tomorrow for the pre admission checks (blood tests, blood pressure, ECG
etc) They tell me I will be in for 3 days as it is a major op (new
belly button and muscle repair) I am very excited but also scared.
I have been looking at before and after pictures, not sure that was such a
good idea!!!!! I wondered how long I may be off work after the op? any
ideas? Wish me luck

Tuesday to discuss the opperation. I wonder if i can put in any

I am a teacher and I suppose my job is quite physical, standing up
etc????? I was thinking 4–6 weeks but that is just a guess,
I dont want to rush back and do more damage. Look forward to hearing other

consultant/surgeon who is doing my opp on Friday, she said she would also do
some liposuction to contour me!!!!!!! I was not expecting the lipo and this
is on the NHS. There is also the muscle wall repair. She said I would be on
surgery 3 hours and another hour in recovery. I am now officially
scared
I will keep you posted. Wish me luck

Hi
I had my operation a week last Friday, all went well. Pain was not as
bad as I expected. I am very numb and have not managed to laugh,
sneeze or cough yet. My stomach is now a bit swollen but this is normal
I am told. Have had out my belly button stitches and all looks well, no
sign of infection or wound breakdown. Cant wait till the swelling goes, roll on
the boob job.

I Have recently been to my doctors to ask about a tummy tuck on the
N.H.S and was flatly told no as they have withdrawn all funding for any
cosmetic surgery.
After having 4 children in 5 years then losing 4 stone in
12 months I have the most un-sightly over hang and it makes me feel
physically sick.
I asked my G.P 2 years ago about having it done and he said that
it could be done if I sustained a healthy weight for 12 months and now
to be told no is so depressing.
I would never be able to afford finance as I don't work, I'm a
full time mum.
It's just so depressing to be told I have been put on the
waiting list them to be told no I haven't and that I probably never
will be.
sophie, IP: 213.105.98.39 | 12.6.2010 15:25:03
hi chrissy sorry to hear about your news i think its disgusting they
have said that to you.
could you not try another doctor? I am also a full time mum i have
built my money up by buyin cheap cars and doing a bit of work to them and
selling them for more money it has took me 3 years i started off with
a £300 ford ka a budget loan i got from the job centre. sold it for £800
and worked my way up from there with more cars. Just an idea?? well done for
your weight loss 4 stone is amazing!
Chrissy, IP: 94.10.62.5 | 13.6.2010 16:56:24
Thanks for the idea sophie. I am going to register at another doctors
and give them a try, I've been turned down twice so hearing a no a third time
won't hurt.
The 4 stone just went and once I got sterilised i put it
all back on, so now I am yet again fighting a losing weight battle, it
doesn't help that after the joy of losing weight I am left with this
horrible over hang which just depresses me so much. It's a visious
circle!!

bypass surgery but also a tummy tuck too..I am livid. Esp as this woman is
30 had no kids yet and has previously managed to lose over 7 st on her
own. talk about a postcode lottery I have a doctor lottery. Am thinking

I cant believe how many people are in the same situation as me, I'm
desperate for a tummy tuck as i have a horrid overhang. My Doctor is great,
she has wrote a letter to the NHS for me and totally understands where I'm
coming from. Both my children were big babies, my first was 9lb 8oz and my 2nd
child was 10lb 11oz, I also had polyhydramnios () excess water) with my 2nd
which stretched my tummy hugely, I was measuring 52 around which
should have been around 38 at the time of birth.
I've now had a letter back from the NHS asking for a personal letter from
me and photos which I'm taking back to the doctor tomorrow.
My doctor has said to me it is extremely hard to get a tummy tuck on the
NHS and if I cant get one thos way, I will be looking to go abroad,
beauty in Prague looks good, can anyone recommend them?

DO YOU DO BUTTOCKS ENHANCEMENT PREFERABLY HYDROGEN OR SILICONE INJECTIONS OR EVEN FAT TRANSPLANTS? DON'T WANT IMPLANTS. IF SO, HOW MUCH DO THEY COST?
chrissy, IP: 94.10.69.65 | 5.7.2010 23:43:39
Well done Jenni on the weight loss, that truely is amazing. Go to your G.P and ask about sugery on the N.H.S. I'm sure they would consider it as you have worked so hard to lose the weight. If not, start saving as I am. Best of luck.

Hiya I'm kerry and I'm 26 and 5 years ago I had an emergancy c section as my son and I both would of died and I have been left with such bad muscle damage its not funny. Of course myself and my son are both alright but I've been left scard for life. I've always stuggled with depression in the past and still do and no matter what I do I can't get it back to what it once was and I've never had my full confidence back.I. used 2 go out. And be able 2 wear little dresses and tops that would show off my tummy but for the last 5 years I've always had to wear tops that are long enough so my tummy doesn't show and all I ever seem to do is wear a hoody or cardy to hide my pregnant looking belly that has no baby in it.I never wear proper summer clothes and I haven't even gone swimming in 5 years.all I want is a tummy tuck to end my nightmare and get my self confidence back but as I'm a single mother there isn't much chance of the nhs doing this for me I think :( I don't wana look pregnant anymore. Hi kerry, I know how you feel, I have a huge overhanging tummy
after 2 children and really depressed. I've been to my doctor for a tummy
tuck and it's going to the board for a decision but I dont think it
will happen, it's really hard to get a tuck on the NHS, and
there's not enough help for us, I contacted Beauty in Prague and there
tucks are £2200, which is a third of what it is here but they turned me down to
due to to much fat in my overhang so havent got much hope left,
I constantly diet and exercise and get no where.
All i can suggest is too see your doctor and start that process to
see if you can get anywhere, otherwise start saving your pennies x

Hi everyone.
Can't believe how many women feel the same way I do. I'm 28 and
have 2 beautiful daughters. I have excersised continuously since my
secind child was 8 wks old. The weight has gone but i have been left
with what i call a hanging pouch.
It gets me so depressed. Can't wear nice fitted clothes and don't feel
sexy for my partner, the thought of being naked infront of him scares me to
death!
Will make an appointment with GP amd plead case for tummy tuck!!!

lose wasn't a vast amount but she reffered me anyway and the surgeon said
straight away that the op could be performed as long as I stopped smoking,
that is why I've had to wait for op because he wanted me to be 6weeks nicotine
free before he'd give me my date….So not only have I got a tummy tuck

HI Dawn, Congrats on the successful N.H.S tuck.. I would love the docotrs here in Wales to say carry on and have it, but apparently we have had funding withdrawn for all cosmetic surgeries. I'm so down about ti all, I have 4 children (13,12,11 and 9) I balloned up to a size 22 whilst pregnant on my last child but lost it 3 years later and got down to a size 12, i then had a sterilisation and shot back up to a size 16 within 12 months, No matter what I do now I can't shift the weight.. I eat healthy food, and exercise daily but never lose more than 2lb.. It's so depressing, my doctors are even releuctant to reverse my steri, even tho I have constant pain and weight gain since having it done. I'm at my wits end and worried that if I do contact B.I.P that I will be turned down due to my weight.

hi my sister had a gastric bypass last aug 2009 she was 17 stone
and didnt need it but lied to the drs to get it and said she had traied
„Everythin“ anyway shes automatically getting a tummy tuck and a
boob job on the nhs, ive saved the nhs 8grand by losing the weight myself and
i had a car crash 3 years ago which paid for my implants
{compensation} i asked my dr for a tummy tuck and they said yes at first
when id lost a bit more weight now that i have it was a flat no, how is
this fair? ive had 3 kids 1 by c section and was 26 stone at my
