Lower eyelid surgery performed by traditional surgical method can be carried out under a local or general anaesthetic.

Lower eyelid surgery performed with laser – Transconjunctival method is carried out under a general anaesthetic and requires a 1 night stay in the clinic. At the time of your surgery the plastic surgeon will also put on your eyes metal lenses, which will protect your eyes against the laser. The incision is made inside the lower eyelids with a laser or radio scalpel and the fat pads are removed plus any excess skin is removed by the surgeon during the process.

I would like to reassure you there is not a need to be worried about general anaesthesia. Before your surgery you will undergo thorough pre-operative test to make sure you are healthy.
