Hi,I am hoping to come to Beauty in Prague in the next 2 or 3 months for breast augumentation. However and unfortaunaly it may be that I will have to travel to Prague on my own.As you can imagine one feels a little nervous at this prospect coming to a new country for a very serious procedure, though after watching Janes (from the UK)video testimony has made me feel reassured that I will be fine.

I found out that there is help with shopping assistance..Great stuff..As this was one of my main concerns.I was wondering if there was anyone else that has travelled here to have their surgery with Beauty in Prague alone and if they could share their experiences with me? and for anyone else who may be interested? I would appreciate that and thanks in advance.

:-D

Hi girls, I'm new to this forum having found it by chance and just wondered since most of your comments are dated 2009–2010 has anyone now had their surgery and how did it go? I'm thinking of going to beauty in prague in August for tummy tuck, lipo and if I can afford it a beast augmentation too! Anyone willing to share their experiences? Thanks so much.

Hi everyone.
I went to Beauty in Prague 2 years ago for surgery, unfortunatly they were unable to do my surgery due to my health at that time, Very reasuring to know that they didnt just go ahead anyway. I stayed in a lovely apartment with my daughter. Couldnt have been treated any better. I am going back in Sept hopefully to have breast reduction surgery, and will be travelling alone this time. would be nice to know if anyone else will be travelling alone at this time for some company.

clare, IP: 109.153.6.8 | 17.7.2012 14:06:36

hi,

I have jsut sent off for information in sept, so if all goes well i will be going then. I ahve never ahd any kind of surgery before, but have been to prague before and am very well travelled , been to loads of places. clare

I travelled to Prague in August 2012 for upper arm lift, my experience was exceptional, the staff were amazing. I travelled on my own & stayed for 10 days. Anyone reading this please don't hesitate to go to Prague, far better experience than in private hospital in uk. I have rebooked to go back in April 2013 for breast uplift. :-P

Jay Eyre, IP: 87.115.128.244 | 16.9.2012 23:40:52

Hi, many thanks to all for posting comments here as it helped me decide to travel to Prague for a facial re-vamp :-) I am driving there as I have a dental appointment in Poland end Sept 2012
Also all the posts about single travellers was helpful…

Rebecca, IP: 92.40.254.46 | 23.9.2012 21:42:19

Hi I am booked in for tummy tuck on the 10th December anyone travelling then? I will b travelling alone, haven't decided 100% as to have hubby join me few days later but thinking not as I'm sure he would b bored lol waiting around as I'm sleeping/resting etc so more likely go on my own for a break haha

Karen smith, IP: 90.217.212.23 | 23.9.2012 22:00:55

I went on my own in August & everyone else took somebody so therefore I was in this big apartment on my own, it was difficult for the first 4 days, I had an upper arm lift so found it difficult to dress & make food. If nobody else goes on their own you'll be on your own, & with a tummy tuck you may find it difficult. Plus Prague is really nice to go for a stroll out. If hubby could fly in the day your being released from hospital rather than him sitting alone. I'm taking my hubby next time in April. They'll have the Xmas markets on in December you could have a stroll round them x

Charlotte, IP: 109.152.83.193 | 25.9.2012 22:34:14

I'm flying over on my own on the 14th October for breast implants. Very exited!!

lyndsey smith, IP: 92.251.227.11 | 27.9.2012 19:00:02

IM booked in for the 4th of nov bringing my partner to look after me cant wait now so excited nose reshape x

Karen smith, IP: 82.132.248.29 | 27.9.2012 19:33:30

Lyndsey you'll love it, it's a great experience, staff are wonderful. Take some DVDs for the room to sit & watch as uk channels not very good just nature ones. Shops are near by, bakeries & coffee shops, some restaurants close by too. My arms are amazing since I had them done in aug just looking forward to my breast uplift in April x

Charlotte, IP: 109.152.83.193 | 29.9.2012 01:04:32

Can you bring DVD's can you Karen? Also what about internet access? x

Karen smith, IP: 90.217.212.23 | 29.9.2012 12:18:32

Yes there's tv's & DVD players in all the apartments, tv channels sent very good all I could get in English was MGM film, nature, history & news so I was glad of my dvd's. There's also free wifi in the rooms & hospital so you can take laptop if you want, I muster used my iPhone, but in my apartment there was a computer also but I didn't use it. They have washing machines too. When you get to the hospital the only belongings you can tAke on the ward is your phone, toiletries & reading attire. You don't wear your own clothes, pj's or slippers they supply you with gown, slippers & dressing gown as it's a complete sterile unit. Therefore they don't allow visitors on the ward you have to sit outside in the corridor, all your stuff goes in a locker. When you go back in the ward after talking with visitor or going up to clinic they give you all fresh stuff to wear, it's brill I wish uk hospitals were more like that it would prevent all the infections we have in uk, that's why they don't have Mrsa etc in Prague. Is there anything else you want to know? Are you sharing an apartment?

Charlotte, IP: 109.152.83.193 | 30.9.2012 12:43:57

Wow that is brilliant…will make sure I pack some dvd's with me! Free wifi in both the apartment and hospital? That is good as I want to keep in contact with my friends and family back home without using my phone to call people all the time! I have read in most of the reviews that the hospital cleanliness was excellent.

I am sharing an apartment yes but yesterday I got a general email from the clinic to say even though I am sharing, at the moment it looks like it's only going to be me :( Not good as I'm travelling on my own!

With the transfers and accommodation do you just pay that all together when you pay for the surgery at the clinic?

Was food shopping over there expensive? I think I'm only going to be taking 1,200 kornua

x

Karen smith, IP: 90.217.212.23 | 30.9.2012 16:26:12

I paid for sharing apartment but I was on my own, it's a large apartment for one, I was abut emotional being alone for the 1st 2 nights, your better sleeping in front apt as the traffic sends you to sleep, the back bedroom I heard too many bangs & kept me awake. Send me your email address & I'll forward you some photos. I took £50 in korona & brought back £10, I did 2 shops at supermarket, fruit, salad, bread, chocolate, milk, oj, jam, etc only cost £6 in total it's really cheap. There's some nice little bakery on the main street 2 mins walk from apt, fresh bread, bread rolls & gorgeous cakes. The supermarket up the hill from apt the cheapest, they'll point it out on your way from airport. You go to hospital in morning, have all your pre op tests, bloods etc, see the surgeon, then if your ok to go ahead with surgery they take you upstairs to pay fir everything before you go to the ward. If you have a cold they may not operate. Which surgeon do you have? I'm having uplift & implant in April I can't wait

Charlotte, IP: 109.152.83.193 | 30.9.2012 16:42:08

I'm going with Dr Kulhanek, who did you have? What was the airport pick up experience like?

Feeling a bit more nervous now I know no one will be sharing with me.

Glad to know food isn't really expensive over there! :)

x

Karen smith, IP: 90.217.212.23 | 30.9.2012 19:24:22

You'll be fine on your own nothing to worry about, I went out fir walks on my own, there's a nice park I walked round that. I eventually found my way to the river & walked into Prague centre found a nice shopping mall & sat and had a costa. The Christmas markets will be on when your there. I'm talking my husband next time I go case Prague is so beautiful so gonna make a holiday of it. My surgeon was dr vrititkova she was lovely. Airport pick up was Ola & George, she will be standing with a sign with your name on, she was standing directly opposite door I came out if, so no worries, only thing was coming back I had to keep asking people to lift my case as I'd had my arms done I couldn't put my case in the hold on plane, but people were so helpful. Just have a few days rest in apt, then go for little walks out. If you write a shopping list the morning your leaving hospital, one of the girls from the clinic will gon& get it fir you, so you have stuff when you get to apt. I left a bag if coffee in apt, just email them & find out how many people have used the apt since august, I left sachets of porridge & some cereal bars. If you take stuff like that, I took biscuits etc. There's a kfc near by, plenty pizza places. I left a full tin dry shampoo too in bathroom. There's pasta, oil & few other bits in kitchen people have left. There's plenty books & old magazines there too.

Charlotte, IP: 109.152.83.193 | 2.10.2012 09:49:42

Looks like I'll be packing dvds and magazines for the first couple of days as I won't be able to get out anyway. Looking forward to hopefully exploring Prague when I'm well enough. I'm having some blood tests today just to check everything is okay at the moment. Would be devastated if I couldn't have the procedure.

Here is my email if you'd like to send me pictures :)

Ah that's great so I shall be packing my DVDs mags kindle & iPad, do you know if the shops are open as normal on Sunday's? I arrive in Prague on the Sunday so was thinking of popping to the shops on the Sunday as I fly in early in the morn & possibly have a wander around!

Karen smith, IP: 90.217.212.23 | 3.10.2012 11:05:27

Shops & supermarkets are all open on Sunday's so you'll have no problems Rebecca

Rebecca , IP: 176.254.70.198 | 3.10.2012 16:46:59

Oh that's great thank you! As I will be getting there early I may as well pick up any shopping I need myself and have a wander around at least then if I'm not up to getting out & about I won't feel like I missed out on seeing a bit of Prague although I am hoping after about a week that I feel up to some light walks not really one for staying in bed but hey we'll see how it goes, wish it was December now can't wait!

Also before I forget again, do I just ask my own doc to do pre-op blood test as I don't want to get to Prague & something stops me from having op? Any tips on keeping well from now till then? Ie did any of you take vitamins?

lyndsey, IP: 178.167.246.99 | 3.10.2012 17:46:20

thanks karen i was going to ask you all the questions. you already ans. in previous post thanks again and hope april comes quick enough for you. xx

thanks karen i was going to ask you all the questions. you already ans. in previous post thanks again and hope april comes quick enough for you. xx

Yes get pre op bloods 3 weeks before you go, you need to stay cold free, cause if you have a cold won't operate, see if you can get flu jab now this month. Take vit c to keep bugs away. Not a lot else I can say re keeping I'll free. You could get bloods done now just to check your Hb levels & if there bait low take some iron supplements, or just do that anyway, especially if you have heavy periods your Hb could be a little on the low side. Prague is beautiful so enjoy the Sunday looking around, I would think after a week some little gentle walks would do you good but don't be walking around for too long after tummy tuck. I didn't take any vitamins prior to surgery but with it being December you need to keep the flu bugs at bay. You'll enjoy the rest post surgery, just potter about the apartment & watch DVDs, have a mid day snooze you'll need it. Have you decided if your taking your husband, if your in the sharing apt it's about a 25min walk into centre Prague

Charlotte, IP: 109.152.83.193 | 4.10.2012 20:04:56

Karen thank you so much for the pictures via email…. very exited now! xx

Karen smith , IP: 82.132.239.125 | 4.10.2012 20:52:05

I'm glad they helped Charlotte, you'll be ok on your own & if you need anything the staff at the clinic are only a phone call away or 2 min walk away. If you need them to get shopping for you if you don't feel upto it they will, there all so very helpful. I wish you look….let me know how you get on xx

Rebecca, just saw you're going in December. I have booked mine for 16th and will be on my own too. I've asked to be able to take the flight back on 23rd so I can be home with my family for Christmas Eve. I'm very excited. Prague is famous for lots of snow in December, hope I'll have pleasant moments (with no probs because of low temperatures).

Anybody knows after how many days you can go for a walk after a nose reshaping out in 10 degrees below zero?

Karen, thanks for sharing so many useful info, managed to put me at ease.

Daniela Rennie, IP: 2.216.93.219 | 4.10.2012 21:19:07

Lindsey Good Luck! Please let me know how it was, when you'll be back.

Karen what blood tests do they do pre op? I had some blood tests done on Tuesday… wondering whether I could use them? x

Karen smith, IP: 82.132.239.125 | 5.10.2012 02:02:03

Get a copy of your blood results from your gp to show the nurse at pre op, but they will still take blood over there cause they need to cross match it in case you have a heavy bleed in theatre, they will also do full blood count, liver function test all the same you've just had done. But at least u know your bloods are ok before you go

Rebecca, IP: 176.254.70.198 | 5.10.2012 18:54:30

hi
I have been researching tummy tucks for some time and in different countries however the flights are short and reasonable from the north so Ive decided to go here.
I will be alone and terrified…so many questions..has anyone got any photos of tummy tucks youve had? any good and bad points? im hoping to have lipo as well for full affect. How long did you take off work? Im worried that I wont be able to walk around or carry my bag onto the return flight etc? or with all the painkillers is it easier than Im thinking? I was hoping to go end of jan begginning of feb..when will i be back to normal? sorry for all the questions but quite anxious
Thanks in advance
yvonnemartin_uk (at) yahoo.co.uk please put prague surgery in the title so I dont think its spam…thanks :)

Hi Yvonne you've got nothing to worry about they are lovely in Prague & so helpful, an acquaintance had tummy tuck in Prague last November & she was able to walk out around Xmas markets. I had upper arm lift in August & was also worried about lifting luggage onto plane, you'll be able to pull small case & it's amazing how many people will help you, I found a nice couple who helped me lift case onto X-ray machine, took my case on plane & put in hold, he also carried it off in Birmingham for me. I was also on my own & nobody shared my apt with me, but I was ok I went out for walks on my own after a week. You'll be fine, read my previous comments, take DVDs with you to keep you occupied in apt. I'm going back 14/4 for surgery 16/4. I've had tummy tuck & didn't find pain too bad it's like a dull period pain ache. You'll be fine they'll give u meds to take to apt, but I brought my own paracetamol & Ibruprofen, get your doctor to prescribe u some co-codamol or tramadol to take with you for stronger relief so u know what your taking

yvonne martin, IP: 94.0.23.59 | 14.10.2012 22:31:26

Hi Karen
Thanks so much for responding it really has helped…and they must be good if you are going back for more surgery. Wish I could go when its a bit warmer but got to get the surgery inbetween other committments. Thanks again

I arrived this evening and am settled in to the apartment. Surgery day tomorrow can't wait!!! Xx

Karen smith, IP: 90.217.212.23 | 14.10.2012 23:15:56

Good luck Charlotte, let me know how it all goes. Yvonne your better off it being cooler, it was 30c when I was there & having to wear a Lycra garment in that heat was a nightmare, you'll have a corset in so at least it will keep you warm.

Karen smith, IP: 90.217.212.23 | 14.10.2012 23:18:47

Charlotte take note of what size implant you have, they come in grams, then let me know what cup size it takes u from & to
Please if you don't mind. I was looking at them all in August & was just looking at 175g to hopefully take me to B cup with an uplift.

Charlotte, IP: 46.13.250.222 | 15.10.2012 06:54:50

Of course Karen that's no problem. Speak soon :) xx

How did surgery go Charlotte? Hope u are well xxxx

Charlotte, IP: 46.13.250.222 | 16.10.2012 15:10:43

Hello ladies! I'm back at the apartment following my surgery yeaterday. I am in quite a bit of pain and am finding it hard to get out of bed/go to he toipetbut I'm getting there. I told my surgeon I wanted to go to a D cup but as I'm quite small framed it was unlikely. I woke up from surgery and he told me he used 415 CC implants taking me from a small A to a full C. Haven't seen my boobs yet but see them Friday :) xx

Karen smith, IP: 90.217.212.23 | 16.10.2012 15:35:35

Glad all went well Charlotte, ismthere anyone sharing with you? Keep on top of your painkillers, take paracetamol & ibuprofen regular to keep pain at bay. Make sure you get lots of rest over the next few days, did they not take dressings down before you went back to apartment, cause they did on the girls who were there with me. They took dressings down day after surgery then gave them a support bra, do you have one of them on?

Charlotte, IP: 46.13.250.222 | 16.10.2012 19:12:40

Hey Karen.
No one is sharing with me at the moment, this apartment feels huge for just one little person like myself :( haha. Yeah they took the bandages off today, I have my bra on now. Couldn't catch a glimse of what my breasts look like at the moment as it was to painful to look down. Get to see them Friday though when I go back to see the surgeon. They have only given me one set of tablets for some reason? Don't see any antibiotics or anti swelling drugs… xx

Karen smith, IP: 90.217.212.23 | 16.10.2012 21:50:27

Did you not take ant paracetamol or ibuprofen of your own with you? I didn't use there meds that they gave me I just used my own. There's a chemist at the clinic on the ground floor as you walk in, pop in there & buy some ibuprofen & paracetamol if you haven't got any. That was like me on my own in that apartment, it is big. There's some nice bakeries at the bottom of the hill, when you feel unto it, walk down to the hotel you can see from front window & turn right, shops & bakery, kfc down there. If you continue to end of that road you'll come to the river, follow the trams over the bridge you'll find a shopping mall, Market, costa coffee in the mall. Perhaps mon, ties nxt week you'll feel unto a walk. My email smithkaren16 (at) sky.com if easier to contact me on there, I'm at home all day as had thigh lift on 8/10 in uk, so chill in at home

lyndsey, IP: 178.167.166.69 | 16.10.2012 22:07:21

Karen smith, IP: 90.217.212.23 | 16.10.2012 22:33:07

Don't drink fir 48 hrs prior to surgery & no alcohol for 7–10 days after surgery Lyndsey, I'm a nurse & that's what we normally say.hope that helps

lyndsey smith, IP: 178.167.164.118 | 17.10.2012 10:32:38

Charlotte, IP: 46.13.250.222 | 18.10.2012 17:24:51

I had my op on Monday, it's now Thursday and I've ran out of tobacco. Am I aloud to go out and get some or do I have to ask the staff to do it? Also wondering what time the bakeries close… craving cakes! x

Karen smith, IP: 90.217.212.23 | 18.10.2012 19:00:46

If you feel well enough Charlotte you can go out when ever you want you don't have to get their permission. If your feeling faint or dizzy don't go, I think the bakeries are open till about 7–8pm but there might not be a lot left. The supermarket is open till late. If you go out the front door downstairs if the apt, turn right, then right at end of the road, go to the top of the hill & supermarket is on the left, they do cakes & tobacco
