Dear Christine,
I'm so glad to hear that things are going really well for you and that you are not in to much pain. I am a bit sad that you felt like you were just dump and was left to just get on with it, i surpose that part of the problem going on your own like i will be. How are you feeling today and what is the swelling like for you? Have you been outside yet if so how did it go or are you just staying indoors most of the time. i'm not sure if i will go out expect when i have to go back to the hospital because being on my own i would be afraid in case something happened.
Well good luck with your recovery and i hope you can rest and heal really well.

Take care
Suzie :-D :-D

suzie, IP: 86.160.119.172 | 10.11.2011 13:15:28

Hi christine,

It's so good to hear that you got back home alright and that it all went smoothly for you. How long are you taking off work to recover as i have just got one week after i come back off work do you think that will be long enough to get back on my feet?
Also i'm really pleased that you have very little pain if any do u have any photos lol of before and after.
My partner is thinking of coming over for two nights to stay with me is it easy for him to find how to get from the airport to the appartments? as i'm not sure he will find it that easy you know what men are like for getting lost lol.

Well it was really good of you to keep me up to date with everything that has happened with you and how you felt it all went thank you once again it has put my mind at rest that i am doing the right thing now.

Take care
suzie xx :-) :-) :-)

christine birkett, IP: 92.41.124.154 | 10.11.2011 13:52:10

suzie, IP: 31.53.67.48 | 13.11.2011 22:47:32

Hi Christine,

I work in Comet as a sale assisent so there will be at times i will have to lift heavy boxes. But most of all i just sit at a tile and take peoples money. I to will be staying at U Stadanky 3, but in a single room, i'm not to worried about watching TV that much as i like to read more then anything. I to will have my laptop so i hope i can get somethings on there like iplayer. Good luck for monday i hope it gose all well for you when you have your stiches out. i will have to get in touch with BIP and see what the amount they will cost for him to come over and stay with me for a couple of days.
Take care and i wil keep you up to speed on how i get on. Do you have my email address? i think i gave it to you but i'm un sure that i did.

Hi All ,just a quick update, its 3 weeks tomorrow since my surgery, i am feeling good my scar is looking pretty good i still have it covered with tape the surgeon put on 10 days ago and im going to leave it on till it falls off..
i got the 5 stitches that needed removing out last Friday and they are all looking good..the only thing i am a bit unhappy about id the stitch in the middle stretched a bit last week, with the swelling and me doing to much so i have to keep that clean an dresssed for a few more days but its healing well and i will have a scar that maybe could of been avoided..
i am very swollen not over my belly button ,just below along the scar area, i was expection this but if i had not seen my flat belly the day after surgery before swelling i think i would be really pissed off and disappointed that this was it , but i know its not , just hope the swelling dosnt go on toooo long so all good really, am wearing a nice dress today , still a wide load ,but not in the front!!
Good luck to you all.. if your doing this all i can say is..eat healthy, exercise and take vitamin supplements and arnica, bella perinis before hand, i think the reason i have had no major problems and NO PAIN is that i was strong and healthy before i went in…

hi christine,

How are you getting on now its about two or three weeks since you had it done? has your swelling gone down yet if so how does it look and are you still happy with it. I'm now counting the days down i have 50 days until i go and have mine done and i can't wait. I take it that you have not had any problems at all since coming back from prague also how did the other day go with having your stiches out and where did you go to have them taken out. i ask my dr to do a per op on me and they told me that they could not do that because i'm going aboard if anything goes wrong they then dont have anything to do with it then.

Well hope you are looking after yourself and i will speak to you very soon

take care

suzie xx :-) :-)

christine birkett, IP: 92.40.75.130 | 28.11.2011 14:37:58

hi louisa
,im now 5 weeks post op and everything is fine,i flew out the monday and had the op on the tuesday from being picked up to going home everything was amazing, the apartments are fantastic i ws in U Standsky 3 a mere 2 mins from the clinic the taxi drivers whom take you to your appointments are on the ball very punctual, the clinic is scrupulously clean and alls hygenically amazing you would never get that sort of clean in the UK….…..i was a little uncomfortable for the 1st 4/5 days then things eased off loads,im 5 weeks now and had no complications or anything at all but i listened to what the clinic advised me and followed it by the word rest meant REST…it takes approx 3months for all the swelling to go down…and remember you dont lose weight you lose inches just so wen you hit them scales your not disheartened lol good luck this is a journey you will never regret ,im thinking now of having a boob uplift lol…..good luck

suzie, IP: 109.157.69.205 | 28.11.2011 20:36:05

christine birkett, IP: 92.41.86.179 | 29.11.2011 13:18:44

Hello, would just like to post an update on how my tummy tuck went. From the moment I arrived to the moment I flew home was all fantastic!! The whole set up is wonderful, the transfers, clinic is small and private but very clean and professional, nurses are so helpful and kind, the accommodation is very well equipped, clean and great!! Will defiantly be coming back for more work and have been recommending to everyone. Only advice I will give is if your planning on someone coming out to stay with you then I would defo plan that for when your released from the clinic because at first your very restricted and take lots of things to keep you occupied because if your like me( get bored easily) you'll need books, DVDs, mags, laptop anything to help pass the time away from your family. I certainly can't rave about this place enough, I'm 2wks post op now and feel really good!! Hopes this helps.xx :-D

Laura Barlow, IP: 93.186.31.81 | 16.1.2012 14:59:39

Hi all! I'm Laura from Ireland. I have been thinking about a tummy tuck for the last 10 yrs but wanted to have wait til I knew I was finished having all my children. I now have 6 and its fair to say my stomach is terrible. I really want a tummy tuck but I'm not sure if I need a full one or lipo or what? Myu youngesy child is 4 months and I was wondering if I have to wait til she's 6 months to have it done. Any info anyone could give me would be very much appreciated x :-D

suzie, IP: 81.151.9.31 | 31.1.2012 19:36:47

Hi all just to let you know i'm now 2 weeks post op and things are still very very sore. From the time i got there they are all very helpful and try to make sure stay is as good as possible. The only thing i would say is if you are going to go over on your own then i would say not to make sure you take someone with you. once i had left the clinci i really could not do very much so i had very little to eat as i could not stand for long enough to cook anything and the boredom is so hard to handle while you are away from family. If i had to say about any problems it was only that the drive to the airport was very painful and uncomfortable as the driver drove fast this is the only thing i had a problem with. other then that if anyone is looking to go out there then i would say to go and get it do i waited for 4 years now i'm glad i had it done. :-)

penny, IP: 79.78.0.20 | 4.2.2012 17:58:45

Hi
I ve just booked my flights and paid deposit for full tt with lipo for 5th June,17 weeks to go . Its a strange feeling really i ve wanted this for about 12 years i have never in my life had a flat stomach, even as a teenager, its a mixture of nerves, excitement, apprehension and take me now i m yours!!!
I ve been researching websites for months now and many emails have gone back and forth between myself and BIP , i have also spoken to other people on the phone that have been treated by them for the same operation and they were all more than pleased with the results.I ve read many times all the comments on this forum and they have been most helpful,to those of you that have given your time to tell us all about your experiences i thank you very much. I will also take my lap top and give an honest update of how i m feeling through the experience in the hope it will help others.
Any advice on healing and keeping my blood pressure down would be helpful. Do the apparts have h/dryers

nicole, IP: 2.26.14.186 | 5.2.2012 20:00:10

hi there, i have a child whose 3 in june i had him by emergency csection and had really high blood pressure after altho im now ok im left with my overhang and really want a tummy tuck

i have toned abs and a riduculous stomach i look so bizarre

i excercise 3 times a week and eat healthy on my good days lol

how long does it take from contacting beauty in prague to getting a date to have the op? if you have the money waiting?

and also how long to feeling back to my old self and being able to go gym and swimming etc?

please help
desperate, scared and nervous

hi nicole and penny i am 14 weeks post op and i am still amazed by my op,the treatment i reallycan not say enough good things about it from booking to the op the apartment everything,i booked and had it done all within a month i asked for the 1st available appointment and tahts exactly what i got amazing..i also had an overhang that i hated and my sole purpose was to get rid of that and it was precisely what it did i loved it from the moment i woke up in the clinic, the one MASSIVE TIP i would give is take cash GBP i didnt i oaid on my card and it cost me 200 GBP more to be honest i wasnt bothered and was fortunate to have tht kinda money in the bank ..hope this helps u please feel free to ask on anything that you may be wary off x 8-) 8-O

Hi all… after having an ectopic , adhesions and a hysterectomy and therefore been cut open on the same scar three times over 12 years ago its left me feeling like a freak. i got married last april and its affecting my relationship because of the way it makes me feel.I have always been a bubbly person but now i am so depressed all the time. Ive had two ops booked but had to cancel in the past. I am just so sick of feeling unfeminine.I thought it was just me so its nice that im not alone in all this.Hoping to go to Prague to have a tt as soon as possible.Would love to know more about having it done there… :-?

penny, IP: 79.78.31.59 | 6.2.2012 18:25:36

Hi All Isn't this forum nice, everybody is so helpful both on here and the staff at BIP so far. Thats a great tip christine thank you and extra 200 gbp would smart a bit. I m just taking carry on luggage so the least i can take the better anybody know if they supply hair dryers and towels in the apartments?

17 weeks to go and counting :-D

suzie, IP: 109.157.66.58 | 18.2.2012 21:51:17

Hi All just to bring you all up to date i'm now 4 weeks post op and since coming home i've had nothing but problems. my T scare got an infection in it the day before i was due to come home, but i was still sent home anyway and now things have gone from bad to worst as i have a hole the size of a manderian. i'm not say that BIP is at fualt i'm just saying that i'm that 1% that has problems after coming home. All the way throught going to BIP until i came home the team was brill and very helpful it's just the after care once home is not good. so all i can say is really really do your research before doing anything. :-(

penny, IP: 79.78.41.119 | 19.2.2012 18:06:11

Oh suzie that really is very worrying, i do hope you are ok :-(

penny, IP: 79.78.41.119 | 19.2.2012 18:06:17

Oh suzie that really is very worrying, i do hope you are ok :-(

suzie, IP: 109.157.66.58 | 19.2.2012 20:01:11

Hi Penny
Yes it is very worrying but i'm glad that my NHS is now sorting it out for me as i don't have any more money to go back to BIP to sort it out. i'm just fedup that this has happened to me. Just make sure you have looked into everything because the one thing i didn't look in to was what would happen if something went wrong? and look at me it has so if i had know this was going to happen i would never of gone to BIP as now i feel worst then i frist did. just be careful and make sure everyone do your reasearch first i'm not saying this would happen to you but it has to me and people need to know what happens when something dose go wrong and what is being done about it. :-(

ali, IP: 82.38.185.67 | 20.2.2012 12:26:50

Hi Suzie, I am so sorry things went wrong but hopefully now you will be on the road to recovery. Im also in the process of sorting out a date to have a full tt and lipo. Was it really hard to get aftercare when you got back home? :-(

Louisa, IP: 2.25.233.152 | 20.2.2012 12:39:46

Hi Ali, me and my friend had ours done in the beginnin of dec and we've needed no aftercare since comin home. I went and told my doctor where I was goin and what I was goin for just to find out everythin I could about aftercare and the day after I landed I went to show him and he was amazed at how good it looks:)) I'm goin bac out the beginnin of april to get my boobs lifted:)) I can't wait!

penny, IP: 79.78.41.119 | 20.2.2012 14:04:09

Hi suzie and louisa, really appreciate your openess my doc is fully aware of what i m doing and her and the nurse at the surgery have been very supportive they have even offered to remove my stitches if it would be too soon in prague for me to come home as everyones recovery is different. I m going to take arnaca and also a tube of bepanthen as they have been recommended on here. Here's hoping 15 weeks to go today :-D

ali, IP: 82.38.185.67 | 20.2.2012 16:04:06

Hi all,

I am travelling in June for breast augmentation and been looking into travel insurance. I have been researching this and am I correct in saying standard travel insurance eg the post office is void when travelling for medical procedures.
I have been looking into Medical Travel Shield anybody shed any light on this or used this company?

Suggestions and help please.

penny, IP: 88.104.37.169 | 25.3.2012 14:58:38

Hi Laura and everyone,

you know what there are many positive outcomes on this forum and suzies is the only negative one if you read all the comments before hand everyone has been fine and more than pleased. Like you laura i have been waiting for years for this and nobody is going to stop me going through with it, i just wish that we could here from somebody that has recently had it done at beauty in prague.

I just want to say Im sorry if its up set people about want has happened to me but it took me four long years to get the money and the courage to go and have my tummy tuck done. Don't get me wrong the tummy tuck is brilliant its just the way they did not stitches me up right if they had done that then i would be really happy with what they did. But they left me in this state and now i have to live with it.
Suzie

suzie
I wasnt' having a go at you, what's happened to you has made us all waiting for our ops very apprehensive is all and has been awful for you.
Its good that you had the courage to put it on here and tell us all about it,I just wish that we could hear from someone….ANYONE….that has had it done recently and its been a positive outcome.

Kathryn, IP: 83.70.199.171 | 26.3.2012 12:39:41

It's now 3 weeks since my TT and everything is going great. Scar healing excellent. I still have major swelling feeling each night and the support garment is way too tight, but overall I feel great.

penny, IP: 88.104.38.126 | 26.3.2012 12:48:21

thank you Kathryn, can i ask you which bit is swelling is it just the scar or your whole tummy? Or is your tummy nice and flat now? Penny

Kathryn, IP: 83.70.199.171 | 26.3.2012 13:07:44

It's hard to describe. The swelling is an all over feeling of fullness that comes on worse in evenings. My tummy is flat and I've got rid of a big fat spare tyre. I feel great and am completely satisfied with the results. The scar itself is almost completely healed and the swelling doesn't affect that at all. I am amazed and delighted with the outcome. The swelling is fluid under the skin and is completely normal according to my surgeon.

penny, IP: 88.104.33.185 | 27.3.2012 11:42:22

Hi Kathryn

So no regrets then, thats good to hear, have you gone down in size(dress size) now you have rid of the spare tyre? people on here have said you dont lose weight just inches have you found that? I expect too if you feel swollen of an evening that is encouraging you to eat less, which means you have probably lost weight anyway??
Are you back at work already? I can only get almost 3 weeks off and i do a sitting at a desk type job so hopefully i ll be fine.
take care kathryn and thanks for your positive response

Kathryn, IP: 78.137.145.98 | 28.3.2012 23:11:26

Yes Penney no regrets at all so far. One dress size down and feeling great so far. About 7 lbs weight off since and i expect more when the fluid retention is gone. I'm having the fluid drained tomorrow and I'm looking forward to that. Hopefully it will be easy and I will feel less swollen afterwards.

I have been looking into having a tummy tuck and lipo in poland in July, the only thing that is really bothering me is the flight home on my own after a week. Is a week long enough to be able to fly home – its only a 2 hour flight and then a 2 hour train journey as my husband does not drive and can not fly from gatwick.

anyone who has had a tummy tuck and flewn home after a week could you please advise.

many thanks
Elaine

I have cancelled and lost my deposit, may i suggest to anyone thinking about the procedure they get before and after shots of the work that your surgeon has done.

suzie , IP: 212.183.128.33 | 10.4.2012 12:05:50

Penny Im so sorry to hear that you have canceled your tummy tuck and lost your deposit if i could of sent you photo i would of but you would not of wanted to see my after photos. My hole has healed up but Im left with a dip in my stomach now. I hope that one day you will be able to have your tt done in the UK.

Hi All , i,m looking into getting tt, i,ve been to see a sugeon in ireland and was told i need a full tt, it,s so expensive here, anyway when I left his clinic I did,nt feel confident in getting it done by him so it does,nt matter if you get it done at home or abroad you really have to go with your gut feeling. Anyway have been reading all the posts and well I do have to say BIP reads very well. What I would like to know is how long you have to stay out there and also do you go to your own gp to get stich removal ect.
Do you get the name of the operating surgeon before hand so you can check out his/her credentials.
I really want this done and will be looking at july as have a few things comming up b4 hand and want to be on top form.
Any replies is greatly appreciated.
My hubby is on board finally after 5 years years of mentioning it on and off but he would prefere to get it done at home in Ireland, but sure so would I but as I said it,s soooo expensive and then I might not go ahead with it.

Laura, IP: 86.40.107.230 | 13.4.2012 15:22:39

:-DHi Suzi like you I have been wanting this for years I have had 6 chidren and really need a tummy tuck! My husband is also on board now too but after lengthy discussions he wants me to have it done here in Ireland as hes worried about the aftercare if I was to have it done in Prague.I emailed The Independant Hospital in Ballykelly and they have told me its £80 for a consultation and then the surgery would be £4,200. I have looked into the surgeons there and found a Dr.Christopher Hill I am hoping he still works for the clinic as he is on the GMC register and is trained in cosmetic procedures and also has been doing this a long time. The prices for the south of Ireland are more expensive with Cosmedico charging in the region of 7000 euro.I hope this helps a bit as I too understand how frustrating it is not knowing all the answers. I really want a big change now this year for my 30th so fingers xd it all goes to plan.Good luck in whatever road you choose to go down also check out estheticon.com they have all the surgeons abroad with their credentials on show so that if you find a place abroad you can check on them before hand best of luck x

Hi
I am in Prague now had my tummy tuck and liposuction on Tuesday and I came back to my apartment this afternoon.

Hi girlies thank u soo much for ur replies, wow angela how r u feeling, ur so brave on ur own, where r u staying, would u reccomend it. How long do u have o stay for, Did u come from Ireland. In total how much did it cost u, i,m worried they might add on little extras on when i get there. sorry for bombarding u with questions, well the most important thing is r u happy with the result.

Laura IP ,thanks for ur comments too, that will all help in my research

Hi everyone

I hope you don't mind me posting on this forum, but I work for a television company called Firecracker Films and we're making a documentary for BBC3 about young people aged 18–25 who are planning to change the way they look – from weight loss and fitness, to cosmetic surgery.

We are particularly interested in featuring someone who is planning to have surgery abroad, any time within the next eight weeks.

Having surgery abroad is becoming such a popular option for so many people, this could be a great opportunity to document your experience.

If you're interested in finding out more, I'd love to hear from you.

Please contact me at bodychange (at) fi recrackerfilms .com or 020 7349 7126

hi,all,
well 11 days post op tummy tuc and feel and look fantastic, cant believe how far i have come in such a short time. Best thing I have ever done for myself, hubby was a great support too. If your reading the threads on this discussion board I went to the same place as Kathrine, when I seen her before and after photo,s I could,nt believe it. If anyone want s me to pass on the name just send your email and I can give all the info.
Kathrine did this for me and if I can help anyone else well datr would be good. Honestly girls getting a recommendation from someone is far better than going on a hunch

Hi
I have been looking into having TT and arm lift surgery for quite sometime. I am almost 60 now and wonder if I have left it too long & whether my age will go against me when it comes to the healing process?
Is there anyone near to my age who has had a TT or arm lift surgery done in Prague recently?
Your comments, experience, views and advice would be much appreciated as would before and after photos.

Thank you

Diane, IP: 87.181.170.137 | 7.6.2012 17:31:02

Hi guys,
I have booked a full tummy tuck with muscle tightening and going to bip in October.
Has anyone recently had this operation that could send me some before and after pictures, I'm really nervous as after having twins and another little boy my tummy has been really badly stretched so I'm worried about the healing.
Many thanks in advance for any help or advice x

suzi k, IP: 89.100.55.111 | 7.6.2012 19:48:34

Hi Diane,
I,m 2 weeks post op tt. Ialso got my muscels tightenend and also lipo on my waist to enhance the whole look, as my doc said.
Like you I have had twins and another child before, it was the size I was after having the twins that no way ould I ever get back to normal.
My stomach muscels below the belly button where 2 and half inches apart, could,nt believe it when my doc told me, so they are alltight now. No amount of sit ups would ever do the job. As I said in my earlier post I am amazed at how fast my recovery is, still have to take it easy but well able to do normal day to day stuff. Had to take it very easy the first week.
After the op I stayed in hotel for 5 days and I do have to say it was the best thing ever as no way would i have been able to travel and also everything is done in the hotel so no temptation at all to do anything . Also my hubby was with me so he was a great help also.
I did, bnt get it done in BIP but if you want to send me your email I can let you know where I went. I live in Ireland and my doc done pre consults in dublin and I have seen him here for post consults as he works in dublin every other week, and that it whay I went with him , no going to gp or any other doc, and also he was great I could,nt recommend him anymore than i have already, abslutely briiliant doc.
Another thing when you get the muscels tightened it feels like you,ve done a million sit ups and is sore when you cough or sneeze but it deffo eases after a while, still a little sore when I cough but not too bad now. Anyway they deffo wont seperate again.
Iseen a few consultants in dublin with the Irish clinics and always left the office not feeling comfortable or happy with them but as soon as I met my surgeon I knew he was the one, he answerd all my emails before and after and he is a true gent, anyway as I said if you want his details, send me your email.
Its the best thing i have ever done for myself and i still have swelling but wow the results are great

Hi all! I am having a full tummy tuck with lipo on August 14th at BIP. Any of you who have been through it I would love to see pictures (before, after, recovery, etc) and hear your experiences. I have read so many positive stories here so I am very excited!

I am 30 with 3 kiddies and weight loss has taken its toll on my poor tummy. Once this is done I shall be returning for thigh and arm lift.

Please get in touch if you could share some pictures/stories or if you will be there the same time as me. I am travelling alone while husband looks after the little ones.

Thanks :-)

I have just started to investigate the pros and cons of having a tummy tuck abroad. I am worried about the travel home afterwards and any further help needed once I get home. I am 50 years old and desperate to get my figure back after three children. It is only now that I can afford it. Also worried about the amount of time I need of work. Will two to three weeks be ok? I work in a small office and sometimes have to lift heavy files.

Seriously he is a perfectionist and has a gr8 work ethic.

Hi there, I let them sort it, the cost is extra , I'm taking my sister so I think it's £40 per night, the time you are in hospital is included though . I'm going on nov 18th for t.t… Scary !!!!

Rachie, IP: 87.112.48.140 | 12.11.2012 21:59:27

I just wanted to message that if your thinking of using beauty in prague… Go for it, I have been such a pain and the coordinator has been fantastic. Infact my surgery is on next Monday and I've just had major wobbles about the surgeon I was using as no one had used him on here. To put my mind at rest they have changed the surgeon to Prof nej ? unsure of the spelling… It not all about the sell, they are as interested after you have committed….. Really nervous but no backing out now !!! Hoping nothing crops up to stop the surgery like anaemia etc…. X
